Dr. Deborah Garnett received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Catholic University of America and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Beginning her career as an Associate Professor of Nursing, Dr. Garnett has an extensive background in health care working many years in a variety of critical care settings. Most recently, she has been an adjunct professor in the UMKC School of Medicine, teaching medical students effective communication with patients.

As a Psychologist, Dr. Garnett works with adults with chronic and acute illness (including cancer,  heart disease, lung disease and chronic pain) grief and loss and end of life issues. She also works with people who have general anxiety and depression. She has been in private practice for over 25 years.

Dr. Garnett retired in March, 2018, and is no longer seeing patients.
